Hullabaloo (Perth Lindy Exchange) Report
Well we have all made it back to Sydney safe and sound after having an amazing time in Perth.  Bruce and I were lucky enough to be invited to teach workshops and the Swingtime Performance Team performed at the Casablanca Ball on the Sunday evening.  Sydney was well represented this year with about 20 Sydneysiders making their way over to WA.

Also very proud to say that 3 Swingtimers made the final of the Jack and jill contest,  Sam, Kat and Julia.  The field was huge, not sure how many but it felt like there were more competitors than spectators and it was narrowed down to 6 Follows and 6 Leads for the final.

Easter Class Changes

Swing class @ Enmore – Due to the church using the hall we are unable to have our regular class tonight 1st April and next Thursday 8th.  We will then be back to normal with week 1 starting on the 15th April.

Monday classes – Wentorthville Swing and Willoughby Rock and Roll are not on Easter Monday

New Beginners classes starting the week of the 12th April for all Venues, bring your friends along to join the fun.

Swingtime Christmas Party
Saturday 5th December  -  This Saturday night

If you still haven’t purchased you tickets then you’ll be happy to know that there will be tickets available at the door.

We are using the same venue as last year, the amazing Crest Ballroom in Granville. The good news is that they have installed an air conditioning system so it will be a bit cooler than last year. The bands this year will be, Danny and the Cosmic Tremors and The Captiols (we found out on Weds. that the moods double booked themselves).
Plus DJ music in the breaks and performances. Lots of prizes and heaps of dancing. Everyone is welcome so come along and join the fun.

BYO Alcohol, water and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

Well the big pack up happened @ Swingtime HQ on the weekend and for the floor lovers of Swingtime HQ you’ll be happy to know that it safely packed away in storage!  A big big thank you to all who came along to help us on Sunday,  Julian, Justin, Greg, Ben, Nathan, Alan, Simon and Daman,  Marie, Angela, Kate, Tina and Julia. (hope I haven’t forgotten anyone).

It was great to see such a big crowd at the Glebe town hall on Tuesday night,  and for those working on the routine for the Christmas party – it’s looking great guy’s.  Also the Rock and Roll routine (Wentworthville) is looking super cool.

Good news is that there is a small parking lot in front of the building also parking on Stanmore Rd.

About 50 metres west (towards Petersham) from the intersection with Enmore Road. The Church is easily recognised by two large fig trees by the road side. Across the Rd from 7-11 Petrol Station.

 Bus routes from the city are 423, 426, 428. Alight at the Enmore Post Office on Enmore Road, just before the intersection with Stanmore Road. Cross the road and then turn right into Stanmore Road for a 50 metre walk to St Luke’s. The nearest railway station is Newtown, walk along Enmore Road (1 km), then turn right into Stanmore Road for a final 50 metres to St Luke’s

Due to a double booking there is no Swing at the Roxbury this weekend however we are trying to negotiate another Saturday this month so stay tuned for details.

We would like to send a big thanks you to everyone who helped out over the last fews months in the preparation for and during the event.  We could not do it alone and everyone is so willing and happy to help out – we really appreciate it so thank you all! 

ASDC and Hellzapoppin comp results
We are still recovering after the whirlwind of SLX, it was an amazing weekend and we are already looking forward to the next one.  The ASDC which was held on the Friday night was a major success. This year we had over 70 competitors going in multiple events which was a huge leap from last year, so we thank you for your support.  Our international judges were impressed not only with the numbers but the level of dancing, we have a lot to be proud of in our scene.

The Hellzapoppin’ comp at the Deco Dance was an eye opener to so many dancers who have never seen a comp like that.  There was  amazing energy from the dancers and the crowd, the room was buzzing.
