Hi there dancers,  A huge newsletter this week,  we have two fun workshops at the studio this weekend Balboa and rockabilly, all the class details for SLX workshops are also included in this weeks newsletter.  Read on for all the details.

Balboa night at Swingtime HQ – Saturday 29th Aug this Saturday
Mini Workshops from 7 – 9pm followed by social dancing till late.
Yes finally another beginner and intermediate Balboa workshop, we have had lots of requests so we have combined the workshops with a social dance as well.

Beginners Balboa with Bruce and Kat 7-9pm
Start from scratch and learn your basics with a couple of extra moves thrown in for fun.

Intermediate Balboa with Sharon and Nathan 7-9pm
Build on your basics and gain some confidence for the social dance floor. You will need to know your basic, break turn and throwout to get the most from this class.

Workshop $25 – includes dance From 7-9pm T

Ever feel like you run our of ideas when the music gets fast?  This class will feature moves  that are good for higher tempos and include stylings for the ladies to dress up their follow.

 Learn how to take your dancing to the next level by adding quality to your dancing.  In this  class you will spend some time learning part of a Lindy routine, then work on making your  movement, lines, and energy look and feel like a dancer!

Nick & Laura’s Favorite Stuff
A fun class focusing on Nick’s current favorite moves and how Laura likes to dress them up

Monday

Aerials, Tricks and Floorials – Multi Level

Our fifth year in a row for this class a full day devoted to Aerials, Tricks and Floorials, this is always a very popular day and lots of fun. Your chance to learn from one of the most respected aerials teachers in the world. Yuval has a special talent for teaching people to do what they never thought they could and you’ll defiantly leave with an overwhelming sense of achievement.  Please note that there will be no rotation for this class,  a partner will be required however we are happy to match you up if need be just let us know.

Balboa – int/Adv – With Nick and Laura

10.30 – 11.45 Intermediate  (This class is open to anyone who has registered for aerials)

12.15 – 2.00pm Int/Adv (This class is open only to those who registered for Balboa)

2.30 – 4.30pm Int/Adv  (This class is open only to those who registered for Balboa)

This class is aimed at dancers who are very confident with all there basics and classic figures. If you are a beginner Balboa Dancer then this is not the class for you. A great chance to add some fun patterns to your repertoire and refine your technique. Please note that the Int/Adv balboa lessons will be held in the smaller studio so numbers are strictly limited.

Swing @ the Roxbury – Saturday 5th Sept.
Swing at the Roxbury is our twice monthly swing social. The DJ’s will keep you on the dance floor all night with a fabulous mix of dance tunes. Everyone is welcome, so come and join the fun. The Roxbury has a fabulous atmosphere and we always have a great mix of dancers from the most experienced in Sydney to raw beginners. Don’t forget that you can also get great food at the Bistro.

Beginners Refresher Rockabilly Dance Workshop – Sunday 30th August at 1pm
In response to numerous requests, we now hold a Beginners Refresher Rockabilly Dance Workshop just prior to the Intermediate Workshop. You can do this independently of the Intermediate Workshop or you can do this as a warm-up and confidence booster before you join the Intermediate group later in the afternoon. Location: Swingtime Studio, Level 2, 108 Parramatta Rd, Camperdown (corner of Lyons Road )
Cost: $15 per person

Intermediate Rockabilly Dance Workshop – Sunday 30th August at 3pm
The workshop will be a 2 hour session which is designed to improve your dancing as well as learning new dance moves. And of course have fun. Remember, if you are more comfortable dancing with your own partner, you are welcome to come as a couple and stay together or come by yourself and join the rotating circle, where you will get a chance to practice with a number of different partners. This workshop is for dancers who have at least satisfactorily completed our Beginners Workshop or experienced dancers who would like to improve their style or learn more moves and we would not be able to accommodate inexperienced dancers.
